ITIDA-SECC is excited to announce the launch of the Software Testing Competition- May 2026!
This open innovation initiative aims to inspire creative, impactful solutions that address real-world challenges in software testing.
This year, participants are invited to showcase their innovative ideas - whether as a prototype or a fully functional software solution - that can tackle practical problems in the field of software testing.
Generate test cases.
Generate automated test scripts.
Enhance defect reporting and root cause analysis.
Any other innovative idea in S/W Testing.
Generate synthetic test data.
Schedule and prioritize test execution.
Self-heal automation scripts.
We welcome all creative, practical, and impactful ideas that help reimagine the future of software quality:
Each team must consist of at least two (2) and no more than five (5) members(including the team leader).
Each participant may be part of only one team.
Each team should submit only one idea.
Participation is open to undergraduate students and professionals (software testers, software developers, engineers…etc).
Each participating team must choose a team name that adheres to ethical standards, including respect and appropriateness.
Participants must enter the competition as independent teams and should not represent, or act on behalf of, any organization, company or board.
Initial Submission (Idea)
Submission of the idea: Submission is closd
Deadline: 20 February 2026
Acceptance/Refusal Result: 26 February 2026 (teams will be notified with the result of acceptance or refusal for their submitted ideas).
Your Idea will be Judged Based on:
- Relevance to competition theme/track.
- Clarity and coherence.
- Originality and Innovation.
- Significance and Impact.
Pre-final Evaluation (online):
Demo for the prototype or the software solution in English.
Evaluation Date: starting 26 March 2026
Shortlisting Result Announcement: 15 April 2026
Your Idea will be Judged Based on:
- Match presented idea.
- Completeness of implementing the idea.
- Readiness/ease of deployment.
Final Presentation & Winners Selection (Physical):
The final version of the prototype or the fully functional software solution.
Date: 11 May 2026 – on the day of the Software Testing 4th Edition.
To ensure consistency for our international judging panel, all oral presentations and supporting slides must be presented in English.
Participants must confirm that the submitted idea has not previously won in any similar competition.
Participants must not submit any commercial idea or solution currently available or planned to be in the market.
Harassment, discrimination, offensive language, or unethical behavior will result in disqualification.
Note: Any violation of above rules will result in submission disqualification
